		<description>When I read this novel, I felt swept up into the same chess fever as Luzhin.  I would be sitting at a cafe contemplating how the salt shaker could capture the pepper shaker in a single knight move, forking my plate and napkin.  To be honest though, I identified more with the young Italian grandmaster whose style more closely represents my own.</description>
