Ever since joining the Marshall, I've been trying to take my chess to the next level. After taking clear first in the the U1600 tournament last month, I went to philadelphia for the World Open and was crushed pretty quickly. In my games there i achieved good positions but simply wasn't playing up to my full ability. I was tired and bleary eyed from the trip. In any case, It's my goal to make 2000 USCF in three years. In terms of openings, I try to play it all. When I'm feeling conservative with black I will play the french. I like the rubinstein fort knox variation as it cuts out all the theory and makes for a nice boring game. I also love the dragon passionately. Though only when I feel like a fight. Against 1.d4 i've been playing the dutch, either classical or leningrad, and have been scoring well with it. I live in Brooklyn, nyc, the hometown of bobby fischer and the name of a minor variation in the Alekhine's Defense (1.e4 nf6 2.e5 ng8!?)
